Police have arrested 34-year-old Abigail Cheetham and her son, the Prince, Wife and Son in connection with the alleged murder of 36-year-old land agent, Nicholas Cheetham, at Nsawam-Aduakrom.
The suspects are also being investigated for the attempted murder of the deceased’s 15-year-old son, identified as Richmond.
According to police investigations, Abigail allegedly had sexual relations with her husband shortly before the attack occurred.
Authorities further claim that the deceased had entrusted his wife with GHS30,000 for safekeeping before the incident.
Initial reports suggested the alleged killing may have been linked to claims that Nicholas Cheetham had impregnated another woman, although police are yet to officially confirm the exact motive behind the attack.
The shocking incident has generated massive reactions on social media, with many Ghanaians expressing disbelief over the disturbing details emerging from the case.
Residents within the Nsawam-Aduakrom area are also said to be struggling to come to terms with the tragic development.
Police say investigations are ongoing as the suspects remain in custody to assist with the case.
