In a social media post, the radio presenter, who doubles as an MC, questioned artistes Joe Mettle and others who performed the song, Yesu Adi Nkunim, at the burial service, stating that the song performed was “unfortunate,” given the circumstances under which the singer died, leaving behind a wife and three children.
“‘Yesu adi nkunim’ in this circumstance? Is that not degrading to God? Why do we make God look bad in unfortunate situations? A 45-year-old man (KODA) died leaving a wife and children,” she wrote.
She added, “‘Yesu adi nkunim’ is that a praise to God or mockery? Can there be a better expression rather than this misrepresentation?”
Singer KODA passed away in the early hours of Sunday, April 21, 2024, following a brief illness.
He was laid to rest on Friday, September 20, 2024, after a funeral service at the Kingsway International Christian Center (KICC) Dominion Center on Spintex Road in Accra.
At his solemn all-white funeral, members of the gospel music fraternity, including Joe Bechem, Mary Ghansah, Joe Mettle, and others, were present.
