Ghanaian Gospel musician Mama Esther, who plays a key role in Ghana’s Gospel music scene, is urging Ghanaians to stop spreading false news.
She gave this advice during Ghana’s 68th Independence Day celebrations, aiming to reach her dedicated followers and all Ghanaians.
Mama Esther shared her message in a self-recorded video, which she posted on her social media pages on March 6.
Known for the song “Onyame Ay3 Bi,” Mama Esther is worried about why people in Ghana share information without checking if it is true.

She believes that sometimes Ghanaians feel pressured to post or comment on social media. The problem of spreading false news is now very serious.
Mama Esther recalled when social media falsely claimed she had passed away, even though she was alive.
“I, Esther have been dead and buried 9 times. But perhaps I was even in my hometown singing”, the Gospel musician said, as she made a recollection of her being proclaimed dead countless times.
She is asking Ghanaians to verify information before sharing it on social media.
