One of the casting directors for the 2015 Hollywood movie Beasts of No Nation, Mawuko Kuadzi, has revealed the precise salary that Ghanaian actors Abraham Attah and Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye, better known as Strika, received.
He claimed that both actors got $30,000 apiece, or 1% of the film’s profits, in an interview with Asempa Showbiz.
After the movie, Abraham Attah’s career took off, landing him jobs all around the world, including one in Spider-Man: Homecoming. He moved to the US to pursue his acting profession and better his schooling. But Strika had difficulties and eventually found herself homeless.

After Beasts of No Nation, Strika was enrolled in school, but he would often flee, Kuadzi recounted. He continued by saying that rather than giving his money to family members, management chose to protect them because of his history as an orphan with little family support.
He also responded to persistent claims that Strika’s funds had been improperly handled. Strika stated in a 2018 interview that he was never paid for his work because a producer named Kofi Robert informed him that the funds were being kept in trust for him.
He further claimed that he had not yet accessed the money, although he was close to 19 years old. He was spotted peddling on Accra’s streets at the time, which stoked rumors that his money had been embezzled.
