A suspected car battery thief was reportedly apprehended by residents in Kumasi and subjected to public embarrassment after allegedly being caught stealing.
According to videos circulating on social media, the suspect was forced to jog around while singing as angry residents gathered around him following his arrest.
Eyewitnesses claimed the young man was caught attempting to steal a car battery within the community before some residents quickly intervened and prevented him from escaping.
In the viral footage, some people were heard mocking and questioning the suspect while others recorded the unusual punishment on their phones.
The incident has since sparked mixed reactions online. While some social media users supported the residents for apprehending the suspect, others criticized the act and called for suspects to be handed over to the police instead of being publicly humiliated.
