A chaotic incident at the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Constituency Executive Elections in Afigya Sekyere East on Sunday, July 12, 2026, has brought a prophecy by Ghanaian clergyman Prophet Roja to the fore. Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah, a NPP supporter and media personality, was arrested amidst the drama, sparking a renewed interest in a June 24, 2026 interview he gave on Ahenfie FM.
In the interview, Prophet Roja claimed to have received a vision concerning Afrifa-Mensah's political ambitions. According to the prophet, he saw the media personality contesting for a parliamentary seat in the 2028 general elections, specifically in his hometown to serve his community. However, Prophet Roja warned that the path ahead would be far from smooth, even going as far as to interpret a coffin in his vision as a sign of grave danger surrounding Afrifa-Mensah's journey.
The prophecy resurfaced after Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah allegedly led a group that stormed the polling centre at the Constituency Executive Elections, causing chaos in an attempt to reportedly serve a court injunction. Eyewitnesses claimed that some members of the group were in possession of firearms, though those allegations had not been independently verified at the time of publication. Footage from the scene showed heavily armed Ghana Police Service personnel moving in to restore calm, with Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah reportedly sustaining an injury in the process.
Prophet Roja had urged Afrifa-Mensah to stay vigilant, particularly in the three months leading up to the 2028 polls. At the time of the prophecy, Afrifa-Mensah had publicly declared his intention to contest the Afigya Sekyere East parliamentary seat as far back as February 2026. It remains to be seen how the recent incident will affect his plans.
The incident has added to Prophet Roja's growing reputation for making controversial spiritual declarations. The clergyman had previously shared a prediction about a possible major global conflict, detailing an alleged vision about a potential war between the United States of America and the United Kingdom.
