A young lady who had abandoned church for a while expresses frustration following an insensitive weight comment from an usher after deciding to go to church again.
A TikTok user, @deborahsjourney, shared her experience of leaving her church after a comment from the head usher. In a video, she explained how the comment triggered her decision.

If you are not careful, you will just give up. I just got to church and the head usher is saying, ‘Welcome, you have added weight,’” she said.
She expressed frustration, adding, “That is why I have not been going to church for a long time because there is someone always commenting on somebody’s weight. Now, today I decided to come to church, na my weight una dey comment on. I just want to serve God in peace and forget that I am on a weight-loss journey.”
The video has sparked conversations on social media about body-shaming and the importance of creating a welcoming environment in religious spaces.
@favours Reality TV reacted, “I understand that it’s not polite to say that but that shouldn’t stop u going to church, if na work you go quite.”

Another user @FAY added, “My dear u will warn whoever my uncle commented on my weight my dad to old him his twice my size .”
