Edward Akwasi Boateng has called on the authorities to intervene and ensure that the container shop is removed.

The musician has reported the matter to several agencies, including the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), but so far, no action has been taken.

Boateng believes that the presence of the container shop poses a significant risk to the safety of the community and has called on the authorities to take immediate action to address the situation.

“They don’t have permit, and they’ve placed the container here, KMA has told them not to place it here, the Kotei Ahenfie has said they don’t have to place it here.,” Boateng said in a video sighted by nsemwokrom.com. “Why does peple want to take the law into their own hands and do whatever they want?”

The construction of the container shop has sparked a heated debate on social media, with many Ghanaians expressing their concerns and frustration over the issue.

They said it is an attitudinal problem. The humans in Europe and North America are not more humans than us . The only difference is that their governments have instituted an almost impartial penal system that makes sure that the citizens can’t just do anything they want.

Gunshot Armani said:

‘@GhPoliceService please all these people should be dealt with because once a disaster happens these shallow minded people will come and cry for help whiles they didn’t consider their actions at the first place’

Great8Grace also said:

Some people build wherever they want, and others are left to deal with blocked roads and safety risks. That’s not urban planning.

Samuel Palma said;

This country die3 ooo daabi, you go to others no one is allowed to have a shop in a residential area. You’ll have to go the mall to get everything, this country needs a military ruler with an Iron fist!

Lucrica Ctx said

“No one is telling this container owner not to be industrious but to make money at the expense of community good is very evil.

If proper systems were working by now the KMA should have demolished it or asked the person to remove it.

Our attitudes are very bad in this country’

The controversy surrounding the container shop has also sparked discussions about the need for effective urban planning in Ghana. Many have argued that the country’s lack of proper planning has led to the proliferation of unauthorised structures, which pose a significant risk to the safety and well-being of the community.

According to urban planning expert, Dr. Ama Serwah, the issue of unauthorised structures is a common problem in many Ghanaian cities. “We need to have a more effective system in place to prevent such issues from arising in the first place,” she said. “This includes having clear laws and regulations in place, as well as ensuring that the authorities are able to enforce them effectively.”

The authorities have been called upon to take immediate action to address the situation and ensure that the container shop is removed.

As the debate continues, one thing is clear: the safety and well-being of the community must take priority over any other considerations.
