A wave of shock and relief has swept through the Mamprobi community after police confirmed the arrest of a woman suspected of stealing a newborn baby from Mamprobi Polyclinic in Accra.
The incident, which left a young mother and her family in distress, reportedly occurred when the suspect allegedly posed as someone offering help at the health facility.
According to initial reports, she managed to take the baby from the premises under circumstances that are now under investigation.
Fortunately, swift action by the Ghana Police Service led to the arrest of the suspect. Authorities say the baby has since been found, bringing immense relief to the child’s family and health workers who had been anxiously hoping for a safe outcome.
Sources indicate that the suspect was tracked down following coordinated police efforts and community support. Investigations are ongoing to establish the full details surrounding the incident, including how the woman gained access to the child.
