Mercy Asiedu described Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka as the one who raised her when she was young and uncertain about pursuing acting. "He is my father. He was the one who raised me when I was young. The impact this man had in my life is about 90 percent, so I have to give him that befitting last respect," she said. According to her, the late apostle played a significant role in her personal and professional growth, offering guidance, support and opportunities that helped shape her career.

Mercy Asiedu explained that before becoming a recognised actress, she had doubts about her ability to perform, but Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka encouraged her and other young talents to believe in themselves. "At that time, I didn’t even know I could act, but because of his influence, today I am a well-known actress in Ghana," she said. She recalled how the late apostle started a Kristo Asafo concert party group with herself, Nkomode, Akrobeto and other performers, providing them with stories and guidance to develop their acting skills.

Mercy Asiedu said Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka’s discipline, mentorship and encouragement shaped the performers they became. "He taught us how to act. That is what has made me who I am today. Apostle is part of my life and he has been a great help to me," she added. Meanwhile, hundreds of mourners have gathered at Gomoa Mpota for the funeral of Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka despite an interim injunction issued by the Accra High Court seeking to halt the ceremony.
