Regional NPP Chief Defies Removal, Awaits Party’s Decision

Jeff Konadu Addo has retained the Eastern Regional chairmanship of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after defeating his closest challenger, Kwadwo Boateng Agyemang, in the regional executive elections held at Asamankese. The election was part of a broader effort to elect new leaders for the party's regional administration.

Regional Leadership Remains Steady

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Eastern Region has seen a mix of new and familiar faces emerge as winners in the regional executive elections. However, the incumbent regional chairman, Jeff Konadu Addo, has retained his position, securing 405 votes against his closest challenger, Kwadwo Boateng Agyemang, who polled 292 votes.

The result gives Konadu Addo another term to lead the party's regional administration. The election process was a closely watched event, with delegates casting their ballots to elect the regional leadership team.

New Faces Emerge in Regional Leadership

While Konadu Addo retained his position, other key positions saw new winners emerge. Twum Barima, for instance, won the contest for first vice chairman, securing 450 votes against Agyekum Kofi Okyere, who obtained 235 votes. The Regional Secretary position was also retained by the incumbent, Tony Osei-Adjei, who secured 552 votes against Barima Asiedu Larbi's 144 votes.

The Deputy Regional Secretary position saw Felix Osarfo Marfo emerge as the winner, securing 338 votes against Nana Yaw Papin's 207 votes and Sylvanus Mintah Boateng's 195 votes. The Regional Organiser position also remained with the incumbent, Jerry Osei Poku, who was re-elected with 395 votes against Adamu Musah Raha's 295 votes.

Election Process Complete

The results were declared after delegates cast their ballots to elect the regional leadership team that will steer the affairs of the NPP in the Eastern Region. The election process marked an important step in the party's efforts to build a strong regional administration.
