British-Ghanaian DJ Jeremiah Asiamah Joins Charlie Hedges on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge

Jeremiah Asiamah, a 28-year-old British-Ghanaian DJ, broadcaster, and producer, will join Charlie Hedges for the Live Lounge show on BBC Radio 1. The show will air from 10.30am to 1pm on weekday mornings.

Asiamah is best known for his work on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1Xtra.

He hosts the 1Xtra Rave Show, which showcases a range of black dance and electronic music, including amapiano, house, garage, jungle, and drum & bass. Asiamah has been a regular on the network since 2017, guest presenting across various 1Xtra shows and fronting the latest series of Radio 1 and 1Xtra’s Tell It podcast on BBC Sounds.

Asiamah’s new role on the Live Lounge show marks a significant change in his broadcasting career. He has been hosting his own permanent show on BBC Radio 1Xtra since 2020, when he replaced DJ Charlesy.
