The NPP’s 3rd National Vice Chairman, Alhaji Osman Masawudu, is being called a wife snatcher across social media. He has come out to say the label is wrong, the timeline is wrong, and that the man everyone says he wronged has no issue with him.

In a video sighted by nsemwokrom.com, Masawudu addressed the allegations directly, naming Fancy Gadam and confronting the accusations head-on.

“Fancy Gadam, I don’t have any issues with him. I’ve met him once in a restaurant in Accra. People are accusing me of snatching his wife and they’re calling me a Wife Snatcher,” he said.

His defence is built on one argument: he married Jamila Mustapha, known publicly as Queen Meela, only after her marriage to Fancy Gadam had formally ended. And the proof that the marriage had ended, he says, came from the musician himself.

What Fancy Gadam Actually Said

On June 4, 2026, Fancy Gadam confirmed his divorce in an interview with G Face the Trender on Tamale-based Majority Radio. He was direct about it.

“I am not married anymore, I am single,” he said.

He added that there were no hard feelings on either side. “There are no grudges between us. We are very cool with each other because we have a child together,” he said of himself and Queen Meela. The two had gotten together after Fancy Gadam proposed to her in 2022.

Fancy Gadam and wife

That public statement from Fancy Gadam is the foundation of Masawudu’s case. If the musician himself went on radio to announce the divorce and confirm that the relationship was over, Masawudu argues, the question of who he married after that point is a different matter entirely.

Queen Meela Enters the Conversation

The story does not end with the two men. On August 4, 2026, Queen Meela broke her own silence, and the target of her frustration was not Masawudu. It was Fancy Gadam himself. She accused her former husband of reposting social media content from people who attack and insult her following their separation, alleging that he has contributed to the online harassment she has faced since the marriage ended.

That accusation adds a layer of complexity to a story that had been framed simply as a love triangle. If Queen Meela’s account is accurate, the man being cast as the aggrieved party in the Masawudu controversy is simultaneously being accused by his ex-wife of feeding the online pile-on against her. Her speaking out shifts the dynamic considerably.

Queen Meela has not publicly commented on her relationship with Masawudu, and the nature of that relationship, its timeline and current status, has not been confirmed by her directly.

Who Is Alhaji Osman Masawudu

Masawudu is not a figure who tends to stay out of controversy. As the NPP’s 3rd National Vice Chairman, he sits at the senior level of one of Ghana’s two dominant political parties.

In April 2025, he made national headlines for a different reason: at a press conference, he deliberately pushed a TV3 microphone off a table to signal the NPP’s decision to disengage from Media General platforms, which include TV3.

He later confirmed the act was intentional in an interview on Kumasi-based Ashh FM. Media General subsequently filed a complaint with the Ghana Police Service over what it described as threats to its journalists.

That incident established him as someone willing to make provocative public gestures on contested terrain. His decision to address the wife-snatcher allegations on camera, naming Fancy Gadam directly, fits the same pattern.

Who Is Fancy Gadam

Fancy Gadam, born Misbahu Fuseini, is the biggest name in Northern Ghanaian music. He built his following in the north before crossing over into the broader Ghanaian mainstream, becoming one of the few artists from the region to achieve national commercial success.

His personal life commands attention in proportion to his profile, which is why a divorce announcement made on a Tamale-based radio station in June 2026 became a national story within days.

What Remains Unconfirmed

Masawudu has stated his position clearly. Fancy Gadam has not responded to the specific allegation that his ex-wife is now with the NPP official. Queen Meela has not confirmed or denied the relationship on the record. What is confirmed is the divorce, confirmed by Fancy Gadam himself in June 2026. What happened after that divorce is what the public is arguing about.

The “wife snatcher” label carries weight in Ghanaian social discourse precisely because timing matters. Masawudu’s entire defence rests on the argument that the timing was right, that the divorce came first and his relationship came after. Until someone directly contradicts that timeline with evidence, the allegation remains just that.
