Nollywood actor-turned-politician Desmond Elliot has addressed recent rumors about his sexuality, dismissing them as baseless. The allegations surfaced after Elliot was named in a viral list claiming several prominent Nigerian celebrities were involved in homosexuality, sparking widespread online backlash.

In an interview with TVC, Elliot made it clear he was unaffected by the rumors. “Why would I respond to allegations that neither reduce nor increase my life?” he stated, adding that he doesn’t feel the need to clarify baseless claims. “As long as I’m positively impacting people, I’m good. So let me state it very clearly: I am straight.”

The rumors originated from a controversial blogger, who had recently included Elliot among other public figures alleged to be homosexual. In his firm response, Elliot declared, “I am not gay.” He also expressed concern about the unchecked power of bloggers, calling on the government to consider regulating such platforms.
