Ghanaian television station United Television (UTV), has come under fire for their hypocrisy after sweeping a trending story under the rug due to it involving one of their presenters.
One of the biggest stories this week involved UTV presenter MzGee, who hosts the weekend entertainment show United Showbiz. As far the public knew, MzGee was married and gotten pregnant then traveled to the United States to give birth, for which she was given a lengthy leave by her employer.
However, MzGee came to shock the public after revealing that she is no longer married and that in fact, her marriage has been over for three years now.
She added that her child’s father is not her husband, as everyone had assumed. MzGee did not give out the identity of her mystery baby daddy.
Over the weekend, an episode of United Showbiz was held, and to the disappointment of many Ghanaians, they did not address the MzGee saga even though it was the biggest entertainment story of the week.

Netizens slammed them for being hypocritical as they would have made a big deal out of this story if it involved any other celebrity who did not work at UTV.
One netizen wrote: “Utv was busy talking abut pastor Oduro and his ex wife but don’t want to talk about mzG cos she’s one of them,”
Another said: “It’s called hypocrisy at its 👌”
