After witnessing her favorite musician perform on March 29 at the Ridoana School Complex, a superfan of Ghanaian singer Wendy Shay couldn’t contain her happiness.
Too Late, which was released last year, is one of the infectious hit songs that have helped the former RuffTown Records vocalist amass a sizable fan following.
Thousands of submissions have been made on TikTok alone for the song’s infectious dance routine.
On TikTok alone, a video of the little girl—whose name has been provided as Tracy Shay—dancing to Wendy Shay’s Too Late has received over 20 million views.
Wendy Shay encouraged Tracy Shay to join her on stage for a dance after becoming pleased by her confidence and dancing skills.
Wendy Shay recently shared a picture of Tracy Shay asking to meet the little dancer. The artist also had something to say about the craze that surrounded the viral moment.
This comes after some internet users said that the little girl shouldn’t have been exposed to the music, calling it vulgar. Others voiced their disapproval of the little girl’s attire and dancing motions.
In the face of criticism, Wendy Shay stood up for the young girl and urged followers to talk about young ladies more than just their attire.
Wendy wrote:
“My performance over the weekend has put light on a little girl dancing passionately and happily in the crowd and It’s surprising how some people can not easily identify a Talented and Confident Child when they see one. I see a lot of Negative comments under the post and it is heartbreaking because what I see is a beautiful, talented and confident young girl who could become a professional dancer or a musician if she is carefully guided. Let us advance our mindset and see positivity in things like this.”
