Wingate's order, blocking state officials from enforcing a ban on diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in state universities and public schools, was later replaced after lawyers for the state argued that it contained serious errors.

Wingate attributed the errors to a "lapse in human oversight," sparking concerns about accountability in AI-assisted judgments.
