The manager of award-winning Ghanaian dancehall performer Shatta Wale, Sammy Flex, has responded to rumors that his client did not attend the lavish 40th birthday celebration of business magnate Richard Nii-Armah Quaye.

Shatta Wale was officially invited to the event, which was held in Black Star Square on Saturday, March 22, 2025, according to a YouTube video in which Sammy Flex denied rumors that the rapper had been passed over. He revealed that Soraya, a well-known event planner, directly told him about the invitation.

Sammy Flex claims that a member of the Shatta Movement crew accepted the invitation on Shatta Wale’s behalf, who was at the time out of the UK. He emphasized that Shatta Wale, in contrast to other artists, had no special interest in attending such prestigious events because they did not reflect his own ideals.

Additionally, the management denied rumors that the dancehall singer purposefully skipped the event because of lingering conflicts with several prominent guests. Rather, Sammy Flex emphasized that Shatta Wale had progressed beyond merely going to parties to socialize and eat in public places.
