Former EPA Boss Kokofu Falls to NPP's Odeneho Kwaku Appiah in Ashanti Chair Election
Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) member, has been elected Chairman of the party in the Ashanti Region. He secured a landslide victory in the party's regional executive elections, defeating his closest challenger, former Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Chief Executive Officer Henry Kwabena Kokofu.

Odeneho Kwaku Appiah polled 663 votes to defeat his closest challenger, former EPA Chief Executive Officer Henry Kwabena Kokofu, who obtained 269 votes. The decisive outcome came despite expectations of a closely fought contest between the two candidates. The election marked Odeneho Kwaku Appiah's third attempt at the position after losing to the former Regional chairman, Benard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, on two occasions.
