As a university professor, Milei has taught courses on macroeconomics, economic growth, microeconomics, and mathematics for economists.

He has also authored several books and hosted radio programs, including Demoliendo mitos and Cátedra libre.

In 2021, Milei entered politics, forming his own political party, La Libertad Avanza (Freedom Advances), a right-wing libertarian party. He ran for a seat in the Argentine Chamber of Deputies, representing the City of Buenos Aires, and won the election.

Milei quickly became one of the most controversial figures in Argentine politics, known for his outspoken and often abrasive style.

He has been criticized for his support of free-market policies, his opposition to government intervention in the economy, and his controversial views on social issues.

Despite the controversies surrounding him, Milei’s popularity grew. His anti-establishment rhetoric and his promise of radical economic reforms resonated with many Argentines who were frustrated with the country’s economic and political problems.

In 2023, Milei ran for president of Argentina, representing La Libertad Avanza. He campaigned on a platform of economic liberalism, individual liberty, and reduced government intervention.

Milei won the election with 55.7% of the vote, defeating the Peronist candidate, Sergio Massa.

As president, Milei has vowed to implement a number of significant changes, including abolishing the central bank, reducing taxes, privatizing state-owned enterprises, cutting government spending, and reducing the size of the government bureaucracy.

He has also expressed support for free trade agreements and has stated his intention to withdraw Argentina from the Mercosur trade bloc.

Milei’s presidency has been met with mixed reactions. His supporters view him as a strong leader who can bring about much-needed change to Argentina’s struggling economy.

His critics, however, fear that his policies will lead to increased poverty, inequality, and social unrest.
