Nana Ama McBrown has caused a stir on social media after claiming she did not know that Piesie Esther can speak English.
McBrown was interviewing the gospel singer on her Onua Showbiz program when the stunning moment happened.
Piesie Esther was on the show to promote an upcoming event to be held at the UPSA auditorium in Accra.
Whilst revealing how fans can buy tickets to attend, Piesie Esther mentioned a short code to be used to purchase tickets.
McBrown’s response was to express shock that Piesie Esther could speak English!
“I was under the impression that you didn’t know how to speak English,” McBrown said.
Piesie replied that by the Grace of God, she’s doing her best.
McBrown’s abrupt question which seemed designed to make Piesie feel bad as an illiterate caused a brouhaha online.
Funnily enough, Piesie Esther was not particularly speaking English when McBrown asked her that as she was just mentioning numbers.
It seemed McBrown had the question ready to go and just wanted to throw it out regardless of context!
