The 91-day Treasury Bill attracted bids of GH¢3.12 billion, of which GH¢2.40 billion was accepted, while the 182-day bill received GH¢1.20 billion in bids, with GH¢766.21 million accepted.

The weighted average interest rate for the 364-day bill stood at 11.59 per cent, compared with 7.08 per cent for the 182-day bill and 5.0795 per cent for the 91-day bill.
Investors Favor Longer-Dated Instruments
The results showed that investors committed the largest share of their bids to the longer-dated instrument, which offered the highest weighted average interest rate among the three tenors. This trend is a reflection of investors' confidence in the Government's ability to meet its debt obligations.
The Bank of Ghana has set a target of GH¢5.15 billion for the next Treasury Bills auction. The Government's decision to increase the target for the next auction suggests that it is confident in the market's appetite for its securities.
Implications for the Economy
The strong demand for Government securities at the latest auction has significant implications for the economy. The Government's ability to raise funds at low interest rates will help to reduce its debt burden and free up resources for other important sectors of the economy.
The Bank of Ghana's decision to set a higher target for the next auction suggests that it is optimistic about the market's prospects. However, the Government will need to continue to work to maintain investor confidence and ensure that its debt obligations are met.
The strong demand for Government securities at the latest auction is a positive sign for the economy, and it will be interesting to see how the market performs in the coming months. The Bank of Ghana will continue to monitor the market and make adjustments as necessary to ensure that the Government's debt obligations are met.
