In a recent radio interview, Ghanaian musician and businesswoman Mzbel declared that she would not recruit a member of the Ga tribe for a job, sparking controversy.
The 16 Years hitmaker revealed that she usually inquires about a candidate’s tribe and declines to hire them if they identify as Ga.
Mzbel clarified that her choice is based on her prior encounters with Ga workers, who frequently do not return after their first day of work. She claims that some of them make excuses like going to parties or social gatherings, which she believes betrays a lack of dedication to their work.
Although she stated that she would want to hire people from diverse backgrounds, Mzbel made it clear that she is frustrated by the lack of commitment and dependability displayed by several Ga tribe members she has previously hired.
