Chalyth Olvera, 39, faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, having been arrested for allegedly shooting her ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend in the face.
The incident unfolded at around 4 a.m. on Sept. 23 at a residence near U.S. Highway 90 on the West Side. Upon police arrival, the 31-year-old victim was discovered with a gunshot wound on her chin, the bullet exiting from the back of her neck.

In critical condition, she was promptly taken to the hospital. Witnesses reported an argument between Olvera and the victim inside the home.
Video footage captured Olvera holding a gun, engaging in a heated exchange, then moving out of the camera’s sight. Moments later, a gunshot rang out, and Olvera emerged.
Subsequently, she left the scene as the victim lay injured on the floor. Initial accounts suggested Olvera unexpectedly appeared at the man’s home with his new girlfriend.
Olvera is currently held in Bexar County Jail with a $100,000 bond.
