Reynolds attended Vanderbilt University and played college baseball for the Vanderbilt Commodores from 2014 to 2016.

During his time at Vanderbilt, Reynolds was named the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Freshman of the Year in 2014, and he was also named to the SEC All-Freshman Team that same year. In 2016, he was named a Third-Team All-American by Baseball America.
