Ghanaian influencer and entrepreneur Adwoa Tee recently made headlines after retracting her controversial statement about exclusively dating fraudsters, commonly referred to as “fraud boys.” The statement, initially made on the “Rants, Bants and Confessions” podcast, sparked widespread backlash across social media platforms.
During an interview at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), Adwoa Tee addressed the controversy, stating:
“Ghanaians, I want to use this opportunity to apologise. I did say that, but with the criticism and backlash, please, I am sorry.
She further clarified that her comments were misinterpreted and emphasized that her recent ex-boyfriend, Big Paradise, is not involved in fraudulent activities but is a promoter and hype man.
Despite her apology, social media users expressed mixed reactions. Some criticized her for not taking full responsibility, while others mocked her misuse of the term “backslash” instead of “backlash.” One user commented, “Saying something is one. Owning up to your words is another one. If you can’t handle your own words, you are not worth it.”
The incident has sparked broader discussions about the influence of public figures and the importance of accountability in the digital age.
