The monument, erected to honor the President’s contributions, now lies in ruins, sparking speculation over who or what caused its fall.

Critics argue that the statue is a symbol of self-glorification, pointing out that Akufo-Addo’s administration failed to deliver significant projects in the Western Region.

The Member of Parliament for Sekondi, Blay Nyameke Armah, even suggested relocating the statue to Akufo-Addo’s hometown of Kyebi, claiming that the former president has no legacies in the region.

This sentiment was echoed by many residents who felt that the statue was an insult rather than an honor.

Supporters, on the other hand, view the vandalism as an act of disrespect and criminality . They argue that regardless of one’s opinion on Akufo-Addo’s presidency, damaging public property is not the solution.
