Asante Kotoko has shared an update on the ongoing murder investigation involving one of their dedicated supporters, Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley.
The tragic incident occurred on February 2, 2025, in Nsoatre, following a match between Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman.
In a statement posted on Twitter, the club revealed that the police have arrested Grace Siaw, the girlfriend of the prime suspect, Daniel Febiri, also known as Braima, Ashi, or Rasta.
According to the update, she allegedly concealed Febiri between February 4 and 17 and aided his escape to Senegal through Côte d’Ivoire.
“The police have in their custody one GRACE SIAW, a girlfriend of DANIEL FEBIRI a.k.a BRAIMA a.k.a ASHI a.k.a Rasta, who concealed the suspect between 4th & 17th Feb and assisted him to run to Senegal through Côte d’Ivoire.
She was brought to court on 25th Feb and was remanded. She is to be brought to court today, and we are waiting. More details soon,” the club’s statement read.
Asante Kotoko has also strongly condemned Asempa FM for comments they believe have undermined police efforts in investigating the case.
The club reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that justice is served for Nana Pooley and urged fans to remain calm as legal proceedings continue.
