Joe Barry, born on July 5, 1970, in Boulder, Colorado, U.S., is an American football coach who is currently the defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL).
He has six seasons of experience in the NFL as a defensive coordinator (Detroit, 2007-08; Washington, 2015-16; Green Bay, 2021-22) and 21 years of coaching experience in the league.
Before his current role, he served as the assistant head coach and linebackers coach for the Los Angeles Rams from 2017 to 2020.
He has also held assistant coaching positions within the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Francisco 49ers franchises3.
In his early years, Barry played linebacker at the University of Michigan from 1989 to 1990 before transferring to the University of Southern California.
He began his coaching career at the University of Southern California (USC), his alma mater, as a graduate assistant.
