Ghanaian singer Sefadzi Abena Amesu, best known by her stage name S3fa, has contributed her voice to the recent Max TV criticism of Cina Soul’s outfit.
She denounced the Max TV conversation, in which a female host and male panelists emphasized Cina’s looks over her music, in a string of tweets.
She went on to highlight the broader issue of female artists facing constant scrutiny rather than support. Sefa ended by calling for a shift in mindset, urging people to celebrate artists instead of tearing them down.
SHe wrote:
It’s the woman sitting there for me, laughing while men dissect another woman’s body and career on live TV. What right do you have to sit on national television and reduce an artist’s hard work to her outfit?
The idea that a woman’s intelligence is tied to her body or what she chooses to do with it is exactly the problem. Our culture should evolve to support talent,not police women’s bodies.Instead of focusing on clothing,let’s focus on talent,creativity and actual support for artists
