Lidia Giuliana Matticchio Bastianich is an Italian-American celebrity chef, television host, author, and restaurateur. Specializing in Italian and Italian-American cuisine, Bastianich has been a regular contributor to public television cooking shows since 1998.
At Lidia’s 16th birthday celebration, Felice first met her. Felice’s enthusiasm for restaurants started to develop side by side with his wife and business partner via the progression of their relationship and ultimate marriage.
The pair first launched Buonavia, where Lidia had her culinary training, before coming up with and implementing Villa Secondo, and lastly, Felidia (via New York Lifestyles Magazine).

Felice Bastianich was an American citizen by nationality. But, he was a naturalized one who originally held from the former kingdom of Italy in Yugoslavia, which is present in modern Croatia.
Bastianich and his family fled Pola to the United States during the Istrian exodus movement in 1958. The father of Joe Bastianich exited Pola at a young age after having spent the majority of his childhood there.
