Members of the Grand Lodge of Ghana and the District Grand Lodge of England have visited the Manhyia Palace to offer condolences to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, following the passing of the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
The delegation, made up of senior members of both Masonic bodies, expressed their sympathy and support to the Asantehene and the Ashanti Kingdom during this period of mourning.
Their visit forms part of the ongoing expressions of solidarity from institutions, traditional rulers and organizations across Ghana and abroad since the announcement of the Queen Mother’s death.
The Asantehemaa, who passed away earlier this year, was celebrated for her role as a custodian of tradition and a strong supporter of the royal household.
Her funeral rites, held in Kumasi, have drawn national attention and widespread participation.
The Grand Lodge of Ghana and its counterparts from England highlighted the values of fraternity and respect in extending their condolences.
The gesture was received as a mark of the long-standing relationship between the lodges and the Ashanti Kingdom.
The Asantehene has continued to receive delegations from various sectors as preparations for the final rites progress.
The funeral is regarded not only as a moment of mourning but also as an occasion to reflect on the enduring role of the Asantehemaa in preserving culture and unity within the Ashanti Kingdom.
