Nigerian entertainer Peller has revealed he turned down an offer of $500,000 and Ghanaian nationality because of his commitment to Nigeria.

In a video sighted by Ghanaian blogger King Bygone, Peller said the offer would have required him to move permanently to Ghana. Despite the financial incentive, he explained that his loyalty to his country guided his decision.

“Ghana offered me 500,000 dollars and offered me nationality in Ghana to relocate but I denied because I love Nigeria and I serve my country,” Peller said.

The revelation has stirred conversation on social media, where many Nigerians praised him for choosing patriotism over money. Some commended his stance as a reflection of national pride, while others debated whether the decision was financially wise.

Ghana has increasingly positioned itself as a cultural hub, attracting musicians, creatives and entrepreneurs across Africa. For some, the offer Peller described symbolizes the strong cultural ties and healthy competition between Ghana and Nigeria.

Still, Peller’s choice to stay highlights a deep connection to home. His statement has been read as both personal and symbolic at a time when many young Nigerians are seeking opportunities abroad.

By choosing Nigeria over financial gain, Peller has sparked an emotional conversation about identity, belonging and service. Whether celebrated or questioned, his decision stands as a reminder that for some, love for country outweighs material offers.
