Asante Kotoko’s new signing Fernando Wisdom Bassey claims he has a similar playing style to Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior.
The 22-year-old was unveiled as a new Kotoko player on Wednesday, signing a three-year contract that will keep him with the club until 2027.
Bassey has been given the number 7 jersey and is expected to play an important role for the Ghanaian giants.
Speaking to the club’s media, Bassey stated that he plays like the France and Real Madrid star.
“I have speed and know how to score goals. I also know how to make fans happy. “My playing style is similar to Kylian Mbappe’s and Vinicius,” he said.
In 76 games over seven seasons with Akwa and Sporting in the Nigerian Professional Football League, Fernando Wisdom has seven goals and eight assists.
With Akwa, he won the Nigeria Premier Football League in the 2020–21 season; his outstanding play was a major factor in the victory.
After Guinean goalkeeper Mohamed Camara, Sudanese players Esmat Abdulhamid and Abdoel Rahman Yoouef Yagoub, and Congolese defender Samba O’Neil, Fernando becomes the fifth foreign player to sign for the Ghanaian powerhouses this transfer window.
