Bisa Kdei, one of Ghana’s most celebrated highlife artists, has married his long-time girlfriend in a private ceremony on Saturday, January 13, 2024. The wedding was attended by a few close friends and family members, as well as some of the country’s top female singers, such as Gyakie, Sista Afia, and Sefa, who performed for the newlyweds.
The bride, whose name and identity have not been disclosed, looked stunning in a white gown, while the groom wore a matching white suit. The couple danced joyfully to the tunes of Gyakie, who sang her hit song “Forever” for them. A video of the wedding, which has gone viral on social media, shows the happy couple and their guests having a great time.
Bisa Kdei, whose real name is Ronald Kwaku Dei Appiah, is widely regarded as the king of contemporary highlife music in Ghana. He rose to fame with his movie soundtracks, such as “Azonto Ghost” and “Odo Carpenter”, and has since released three successful albums, “Thanksgiving”, “Breakthrough”, and “Highlife Konnect”. He has also collaborated with many local and international artists, such as Sarkodie, Efya, Patoranking, Reekado Banks, and Lola Rae.
The singer has been very private about his personal life, and has rarely spoken about his relationship with his now-wife. However, he has often expressed his love for highlife music and his desire to promote it to the world. He once said in an interview, “Highlife is part of our culture, and I want to use my music to tell our stories and connect with people across the globe.”
