As the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial continues in Virginia, Elon Musk has been named as a witness for the actress.
The couple dated in 2017 after her split from the Pirates of the Caribbean actor and just a couple of months after she accused him of domestic abuse.
The defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has uncovered a number of new details, including a look back at the actress’s relationship with Tesla CEO Elon Musk following her 2016 separation from Depp.
When Depp’s former agent, Christian Carino, testified in court about emails Heard wrote to him after her breakup from Musk, the new owner of Twitter’s name came up.
Carino said that Heard started seeing Musk “soon after Johnny Depp” and that following their breakup, Musk wrote her and said, “You weren’t in love with him.” You told me a thousand times that you were just feeling empty.”
How did Amber Heard and Elon Musk meet?
They first met on the set of Machete Kills in 2013. Miss San Antonia stars Heard alongside Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen, Lady Gaga, and Vanessa Hudgens in the Robert Rodriguez-directed film. Musk made a guest appearance.
Heard had been married to Johnny Depp for two years at the time. Musk was unmarried, having divorced Tallulah Riley, a British actress, in 2012. In 2013, they reconciled and married for the second time.

What brought about their first breakup?
The couple is said to have broken up in August of 2017.
“Being in the public spotlight means having to justify oneself to so many people, so much of the time,” the Rum Diary actress said on Instagram about the break-up. In this instance, I’d want to be more silent. Despite the fact that we are no longer together, Elon and I stay close. Thank you for your continuing support, privacy, and respect during these trying times.”

Back together, then a final split
By the end of 2017, the pair had got back together. They spent the festive season visiting Easter Island in Chile, and were then photographed holding hands in LA just after New Year.
Their two-month-long reconciliation didn’t last and in February 2018, the pair split for good. A source told the New York Post’s Page Six that it was Musk who had “made the decision to end things.”
“The timing just wasn’t right, but they still care about each other,” they said.
