Renowned Ghanaian journalist, Afia Pokuaa, has taken to social media to respond to the chiefs who mocked her 86-year-old father’s health during her apology visit.
Pokuaa had sought forgiveness from the palace after making disparaging remarks about the Ashanti Kingdom’s Otumfuo or Asantehene. However, her plea was rejected, and some chiefs took the opportunity to ridicule her father’s physical disability.
In a fiery post, Pokuaa invoked Psalm 109, praying for the chief’s sickness and pain to be transferred unto him.
“My dad is 86 years old, and if he has leg problems, it’s understandable. But for you to mock him because of his sickness, I pray you taste the same suffering,” Pokuaa wrote.
Pokuaa’s response has sparked debate, with some supporting her stance against mockery and others criticizing her use of curses.
