Ghanaian social media influencer Adwoa Tee has ignited a firestorm of controversy following her candid remarks about her dating preferences. During Season 3 of the “Rants, Bants, and Confessions” podcast, where she joined Efia Odo and other female guests, Adwoa Tee openly declared her preference for dating “yahoo boys” over men with traditional 9-to-5 jobs.

“Before I started this influencing thing, I was doing 9-to-5, okay? I was working at GSE. The guys I worked with would leave the office at 9:00 p.m., 10:00 p.m. By the time they got home, they were exhausted. That’s overtime,” she explained.

Adwoa Tee elaborated that such demanding work schedules left little room for emotional connection, something she deeply values in a relationship. Her statements have since gone viral, sparking widespread debates on social media platforms.

While some netizens criticized her for seemingly endorsing fraudulent activities by expressing a preference for “yahoo boys,” others defended her right to personal choice in relationships. The term “yahoo boys” is commonly associated with individuals involved in internet fraud, and Adwoa Tee’s comments have raised concerns about the potential glorification of such activities.

The influencer’s remarks have also prompted discussions about the societal pressures and economic factors influencing relationship dynamics in Ghana. As the debate continues, Adwoa Tee remains at the center of a national conversation on love, money, and morality.
