Renowned Ghanaian actor and musician Lilwin, known offstage as Kwadwo Nkansah, has postponed the Sunyani screening of his new movie, “A Country Called Ghana,” following a tragic incident.
Prior to the film’s premiere in Kumasi on May 25, 2024, Lilwin and some team members were involved in a serious car accident that resulted in the death of a 3-year-old boy, Richard Tawiah Amponsah. The incident has drawn significant criticism, with many suggesting it could have been avoided had proper traffic regulations been adhered to.
Lilwin released a statement via Instagram, explaining that the decision to delay the Sunyani premiere was made to honor the memory of the young victim. He assured fans that a new date would be announced in the near future and apologized for any prior statements that might have been perceived as insensitive to the bereaved family.
The actor also asked his fans to pray for him, his manager, and his security team, all of whom are currently undergoing treatment at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. He thanked his supporters for their understanding and compassion during this difficult time.
