From the dusty roads of rural Ghana to the research halls of the global agricultural stage, Mr. Atta Selorm Aloka has spent the past decade chasing one mission: to make farming smarter, fairer, and more accessible for the people who need it most.
Back in 2014, Mr. Aloka started a company called SELI ME Enterprise, an agricultural and supply business with a bold goal; bring quality tools and support to Ghana’s rural farmers, many of whom had long been left out of modern agricultural progress.
What began with a few deliveries to local farms soon turned into a national effort. Over the next eight years, SELI ME served more than 50 farms, helping smallholders access modern equipment, better supplies, and reliable transport.
But SELI ME wasn’t just about business. Under Mr. Aloka’s leadership, it became a place of opportunity, especially for young people. Through mentorship programs and hands-on training, the company helped budding entrepreneurs build their own agribusinesses. In 2019, one trainee went on to launch his own farm and earned a lot of recognition, a moment Mr. Aloka often cites as one of his proudest.
By 2022, SELI ME had left its mark. Mr. Aloka had grown it from a local supplier into a symbol of what’s possible when rural communities are given the right tools and trust. That same year, Mr. Aloka stepped away from his executive role to begin a new chapter: a deep dive into agricultural research.
Now pursuing advanced research in agricultural systems, Mr. Aloka is focused on helping small and mid-sized farms make better decisions, whether it’s farm risk management, cutting production costs, or improving crop yields. He’s presented his work at major conferences, partnered with farming networks, and continues to search for practical solutions rooted in real-world farming.
Though his journey has taken him far, Mr. Aloka’s connection to Ghana remains strong. While he no longer leads SELI ME Enterprise, the company continues to operate with the same spirit he built it on, serving farmers, uplifting communities, and proving that real change can start from the ground up.
Mr. Aloka’s story isn’t just about where he’s from or what he does, it’s about what can happen when you listen to farmers, invest in people, and stay grounded, even while making a difference beyond where you started.
