Inspector Twumasi is in the news once again, following his appearance in court today, March 14.
The police inspector has still insisted that the relationship that existed between him and Maadwoa was a platonic one, and not amorous as many believe.
When asked if he ever gave Maadwoa gifts during the period they were friends, Inspector Twumasi denied ever giving Maadwoa gifts.
However, he contradictorily disclosed that he once upon a time gave Maadwoa 27k Cedis.
Check what transpired between him and the court;
Inspector Twumasi has today, March 14 warned Maadwoa’s lawyer in court not to call him Taakum.
The police inspector claims Taakum is not his real name, hence, the need for the lawyer to quell the habit of calling him by that name.
This comes after the inspector appeared before the court today, March 14 following the inability of the court to complete its proceedings when they met on March 10.
Meanwhile, check out what transpired between inspector Twumasi and the lawyer;
Lawyer: It is never true that the inspector told you that they had visited your house and found a pistol that you used to kill the deceased as you have stated in paragraph 4 of your evidence.
Twumasi: My evidence is true
(Paragraph 4 read to him)
Lawyer: I am putting it to you that no search was conducted in your house in your absence
Twumasi: It is not true
Lawyer: I am further putting it to you that the investigator never put you under any form of duress while taking your statement
Twumasi: I was under duress
Lawyer: Then I am putting it to you that you did not suffer any beatings from any masked men before the jury before and after you gave your statement to your investigator
Twumasi: I was indeed beaten. I got sick and coughed a lot after receiving numerous beatings.
Lawyer: You have said Victoria Dapaah was your friend
Yes
Lawyer: How long have you known her before 20th April 2023?
Twumasi: I Cannot tell
Lawyer: Is it more than two years?
Twumasi: I cannot tell
Lawyer: Is it more than 6 months?
Twumasi: I cannot tell

Twumasi: Yes
Lawyer: And you liked her very much
Twumasi: Yes
Lawyer: You used to give her gifts
Twumasi: I never gifted her
Lawyer: I am putting it to you that you were not giving her only gifts, but her sister too
Twumasi: It is not true. Maadwoa only told me to help her sister and I decided to help her.
Lawyer: So you have given the deceased money before?
Twumasi: Yes but she asked me to help her and I did
Lawyer: You gave her a substantial amount of money. Isn’t it
Twumasi: I gave her money but it was not substantial
Lawyer: The amount you gave her was 27k Cedis
Twumasi: She borrowed the money from me, it was not a gift
Lawyer: You were expecting her to pay back the loan because it was a loan, right?
Twumasi: Yes
Lawyer: Then she refused to pay the money?
Twumasi: She didn’t tell me she won’t pay the money.
Lawyer: You were not happy that she was not paying the money for sometime
Twumasi: That is not true
Lawyer: I am putting it to you that you were not happy because you needed that money to go and pay rent for yourself

Twumasi: It is not true
Lawyer: On the 20th of April 2023 she decided to end the relationship with you
Twumasi: It is not true, she was not my girlfriend
Lawyer: You therefore asked her to return the money that you had given her to you
Twumasi: It is not true
Lawyer: And because she refused to give you the money or continue the relationship with you, you decided to end her life
Twumasi: It is never true, I have said several that I have nothing to do with her death.
Lawyer: You shot the deceased, Maadwoa 6 times with your pistol
Twumasi: It is not true
Lawyer: Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, also known as Taakum, I am putting it to you that your shooting of the deceased Maadwoa was what led her to her death
Twumasi: I am Ahmed Twumasi and not Taakum. Don’t call me by that name
You also called the deceased Mimi, is that the case?
