Boyfriend of late KNUST student arrested by the Police

The Ghana Police have arrested Daniel Tuffour, for his alleged involvement in the killing of his girlfriend Joana Deladem Aku Yabane, a level 400 KNUST student..

According to the information, Daniel is the boyfriend of the late KNUST student who was found lying dead on campus early yesterday.

A statement from the Police Public Affairs Directorate, preliminary investigations revealed that the 21-year-old student Joana Deladem Aku Yabani was found unresponsive behind the Central Laboratory on campus in the early hours of February 27, 2025.

Her body was taken to the hospital morgue for further examination after KNUST Hospital medical staff verified her death on the spot.

Suspicions of foul play were raised when a subsequent police investigation showed obvious signs of violence on the deceased.

Daniel Tuffour, 21, was taken into police custody and is currently helping with the inquiry after thorough crime scene examinations.

To express sympathy and reassure the deceased’s family that justice will be done, the Inspector-General of Police has personally spoken with them.

The police are also closely collaborating with KNUST authorities to investigate how to improve campus security and stop future occurrences of this kind.
