The influential artist born Evángelos Papathanassíou died late Tuesday night, a statement from Vangelis’ “private office” announced to his Elsewhere fan page Thursday. The Athens News Agency also confirmed the news of Vangelis’ death.

Evángelos Odysséas Papathanassíou born on 29 March 1943 –, known professionally as Vangelis ˈwas a Greek musician and composer of electronic, progressive, ambient, jazz, and orchestral music.

Vangelis was once married to Veronique Skawinska.

Veronique Skawinska was the wife of Vangelis, and Veronique was Photographer, author, and journalist who was married to Vangelis.

A 1976 interview, published by Dutch music magazine Oor, stated that Vangelis was married to Veronique Skawinska, a photographer who did some album artwork for him.

Vangelis was married also to a singer named Vana Verouti, who had performed vocals on some of his records, performing for the first time with him on La Fête Sauvage and later on Heaven and Hell..

In 1982 with Roussos she co-authored a book “A Question of Weight”, and also had done some album artwork for Vangelis. She also translates from English into French. She is writer of “Rendez-vous sorcier avec Carlos Castaneda” (1989). She meets Carlos Castaneda in 1985.
Véronique Skawinska married Dr.Paul Forlot (1940), a melatonin biologist.
