Parents have paid tribute to Emma Pattison, the head of Epsom College, after she was discovered dead in her home on the school grounds with her seven-year-old daughter and husband.

Emma Pattison, 45, had only been the school’s first female headteacher for five months when her body was discovered, along with husband George, 39, and daughter Lettie, seven, shortly after 1am yesterday.

Who was Emma Pattison?

Mrs Pattison took over as head of Epsom College in September 2022, after six years as head of Croydon High School.

She was the school’s first female principal, and it is currently the Independent School of the Year, according to its website.

Emma Pattison became Headmistress of Croydon High School in September 2016.
From 2012 to 2016, she was Deputy Head (Academic) at St John’s School HMC in Leatherhead.

During her time at St John’s, she was in charge of raising academic standards, overseeing the UCAS program, and encouraging greater school community engagement.

Who was Emma Pattison?

Emma has a background in MFL teaching and has previously worked at Guildford High School for Girls (where she was Head of MFL) and Caterham School (Head of Year)
