Who is Salvador Ramos, the 18-year-old suspect in Texas Elementary School Shooting?
An 18-year-old teen by the name of Salvador Ramos has been linked with the recent Elementary School shooting inTexas.
officials have not dismissed the idea of the incident being a terrorist strike.
According to Gov. Abbot, the shooter was 18-year-old Salvado Ramos, a student at the local high school.
Ramos reportedly killed his grandmother, went to the school, and opened fire before barricading himself in a room.
The incident occurred at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, a small city roughly 80 miles west of San Antonio.
Police have not yet provided official updates on casualty figures, but Abbott told reporters he had learned the gunman had “shot and killed — horrifically, incomprehensibly — 14 students, and killed a teacher.”
He was killed by responding officers.
According to reports from Uvalde, Texas, a shooter opened fire at Robb Elementary School before rushing inside. He apparently barricaded himself inside a classroom after entering, where the shooting continued.
The gunman was first stated to be in custody in a Facebook post by police, but Abbott said the suspect was killed by responding policemen.
Around midday, the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District posted on Facebook that schools had been locked down due to an active shooter.
Uvalde Memorial Hospital officials stated they had received 13 youngsters for treatment via ambulances or buses. The nature of their injuries was not made public right away.
Two patients have already been moved to San Antonio, according to hospital employees, and another was scheduled to be transferred.
According to University Health authorities in San Antonio, the two patients who had previously been moved were an adult and a toddler. The adult, a 66-year-old lady, is seriously injured.
