A TikTok star, along with her mother and a friend, is on trial for the murder of two cousins.

Mahek Bukhari, 23, her mother Ansreen Bukhari, 45, and their friend Natasha Akhtar, 22, have pleaded not guilty to the murders of the two young men in a horrific vehicle accident eight months ago.

Five other co-accused, all men, were in the dock with the three ladies this morning at Leicester Crown Court.

The Honourable Mr Justice Saini, one of Britain’s top High Court judges, has been appointed to preside over the case.

The trial will run at least seven weeks.

Mohammed Hashim Ijazuddin and Saquib Hussain, both 21, from Banbury, Oxfordshire, killed instantaneously in the crash on the A46 near Six Hills in Leicestershire in the early hours of February 11.

The duo were in a Skoda Fabia, which caught fire after being reportedly ‘driven off the road’ by the defendants.

Bukhari, a social media influencer, and her mother are both from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Akhtar is from the West Midlands city of Birmingham.

Raees Jamal, 22, of Loughborough, Leicestershire, Rekan Karwan, 28, and Mohammed Patel, 20, also of Leicester, have also pleaded not guilty.

Two other Leicester men Sanaf Gulammustafa , 22 and Ameer Jamal, 27, were later arrested and jointly charged.

The victims died instantly after their car was allegedly chased by the defendants and hit a central reservation barrier.

During the high-speed pursuit, one of the males dialed 911 to notify authorities that they were being chased.

Mahek Bukhari had over 126,000 TikTok followers and 43,000 Instagram followers prior to her detention.

She had often revealed pieces of her life, such as her clothing, make-up, and handbags, and had even featured in videos with her mother.
