Who is Jennifer Hernandez?
A pregnant woman is dead following a shooting in Harris County Friday evening.
Jennifer Hernandez, 20, was reportedly 8-months pregnant at the time she was murdered. Her unborn child did not survive the attack, investigators said.
Hernandez and her boyfriend were found with gunshot wounds when Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at the scene of the incident on September 16 near the junction of Airtex Drive and Brundage Drive.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the deputies said Hernandez was in the passenger seat of a blue Nissan Sentra with her 17-year-old boyfriend, who was shot twice but survived.
Their car had multiple bullet holes through the doors and windows. Hernandez was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Deputies said that Hernandez and her boyfriend were fired at as they were leaving the Shell gas station on Airtex Drive and Ella Boulevard by a vehicle in a white four-door sedan with tinted windows and a fake license plate. Toward I-45, the white car kept traveling east on Airtex Drive, according to authorities.
Sgt. Ben Beall of HCSO said the incident may be road rage, but he added that the driver claimed that there was no prior interaction with the shooter.
“The driver claimed that there had been no prior encounter. He said he had no idea where the car came from when they stopped at the petrol station just west of us.
It simply appeared out of nowhere and began firing at him, “said Sgt. Beall.
Hernandez’s relatives informed Houston’s ABC13, a sister station of ABC7, that the soon-to-be mother was enthusiastic about the future and preparing to start a manicure salon.
Her unborn kid would be the family’s first grandchild and nephew. They demand that whoever committed this offense to be punished.
