Who is David Depape?
David Depape has been identified as the 42-year-old man who attacked Paul Pelosi with a Hammer.
After images revealed an open window leading into the Pelosi home, it is thought that the 42-year-old entered the residence through the back.
He is claimed to have barged in early on Friday morning in search of the Democratic Speaker of the House, who was present at the time and shouted, “Where’s Nancy?”
At a press conference held on Friday morning, San Francisco Police Chief William “Bill” Scott stated that officers were sent to the Pelosi residence at 2:27 am for a well-being check.
He claimed that they came upon Paul and the suspect, who both seemed to be clutching hammers.Then, according to Scott, the suspect “took the hammer away from Paul and viciously struck him with it.”
He also said Depape has been booked on charges of Attempted Homicide, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Elder Abuse, Burglary, and “several other additional felonies”.
Pelosi and Depape were both taken Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and NBC reported Pelosi was undergoing brain surgery.
