Authorities say three people were arrested for allegedly throwing huge landscaping pebbles at at least seven cars on Colorado roadways last week. Alexa Bartell, a 20-year-old driver, was killed in the seventh and final of the seven events.
The suspects, all 18-year-old guys, were arrested overnight at their houses in Arvada and are all facing charges of first-degree murder with extreme indifference, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities expect further charges to be filed.

Around 10:45 p.m. on April 19, Bartell was driving when someone threw a large rock through her windshield, hitting and killing her, the sheriff’s office said.

According to the sheriff’s office, six other automobiles in the neighborhood were pelted with rocks in the hour before Bartell was slain. In two of those events, the drivers sustained minor injuries.
This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
