A heartbroken family has paid tribute after the tragic death of a father-of-three just days before his son’s birthday.
On January 13, Wesley Tierney was hit by a tram on Poundswick Lane in Wythenshawe.
At around 8.25 p.m., emergency services were called, but the 29-year-old was pronounced dead on the scene.
His fiancée Kirsty and their three children, Nico, 11, Cody, 9, and Quinn, 2, have paid a heartfelt tribute to him.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Kirsty said: “What can I say about Wez? He was one of those people who would help anyone.
“He got on well with anyone who met him and I knew from the moment we met that we would be together forever.
“We were due to be married in the next couple of years and had a family holiday planned. Our eldest son’s birthday was on January 18. He should have been here celebrating with us.
“Anyone who knew Wez knew he was family-oriented. He has left behind three brilliant children who adore him, as well as brothers, sisters, mother, family, friends, colleagues and myself.
“The love and support we’ve received over the last week has been incredible. I want to personally thank everyone who has sent us their condolences and prayers. Also, thank you to those who have contributed to his funeral expenses.”
